Self-motivation originates from many sources - the need or desire to achieve a personal goal, an emotional (and often life-changing) event such as divorce or death in the family, or even a true internal determination to “be the best you can be”.
What emotion drives each human being to realize his or her goals is personal. What is self motivation for one person will not necessarily be motivational for another. While there are an infinite number of motivating factors, among some of the most common are recognition, influence, internal drives and profit, or personal material success. It all boils down to a person’s motivational ability to embrace the emotion behind his personal goal.
While what sparks self motivation is always personal, there are certain motivational methods that everyone can employ to assure their personal goals are achieved. Chief among them is making a commitment to your personal desire and/or your self. Many people find that writing down their goal or sharing it with another person can keep the motivational forces strong. Of course you will need to employ the appropriate emotion to keep on track.
Another way one can ensure he or she stays on track with a personal goal is to mark motivational progress. Benchmarking is important; it documents improvement. If one sees they are making progress, they are likely to continue making progress. Hope is a powerful emotional motivator. A daily journal can help one keep the momentum of progress up, so the details of the journey are tracked. Sometimes, basic ideas such as progress charts are also helpful to keep hope running high.
When you break down a large personal goal into smaller parts, you can keep yourself from feeling stressed and overwhelmed. For instance, if your ultimate personal goal is to pay off your debt, you can give yourself small tasks like ‘lower food budget by $20 each week’ or ‘track all receipts and review each night’. This way, you can work towards your final goal without it wearing you down.
Perhaps the most important step in any personal journey is rewarding oneself for improvement and progress. This will ensure that the personal self motivation remains high. Any journey requiring self motivation is difficult - you are working toward change, which is difficult in itself. Use motivation concepts, such as celebrating the smallest successes. Just make sure your celebrations don’t counter your goal - for example, if you are trying to lose weight, don’t celebrate by having a slice of cake.
Ultimately, give yourself the benefit of the doubt. Don’t let the wrong emotion affect your better judgment and crowd it with unreasonable expectations. Don’t presume that your initial efforts will be like your final efforts. Don’t pressure yourself to get it right straight away. You are likely to trip up now and again but do not equate that with failure. Remember that your self motivation is quite personal and it will yield results in short order.

Both Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are well known celebrities whose personal lives have led them to be featured in the news very frequently, and there seems to be an insatiable desire for stories about them both by the media and their fans.
When their intense need for attention has resulted in addictive behavior, they have sometimes been labeled media craving whores. This is not so far off either, since they cavort for the paparazzi like trained seals in a circus ring. They suffer from their problems, but they cause them too.
Did Britney show any signs that said she wanted a daily media and paparazzi? Has Paris become famous for paparazzi? If that is the fact, what is the solution for this problem?
I think what they suffer is as serious and debilitating as any addiction. Who would not want to be famous and get loads of daily attention. Most people do not consider that fame comes with a price. The fringe benefits of that life is not easy to get over.
We have been told that “the first thing to getting over an addiction is admitting you have one”. What everyone wants to know is can Britney and Paris admit to having a problem and look to get help?
For celebrities and tycoon daughters like Paris and Britney a million dollars is insignificant. If they would have the will to overcome their need for attention then it would be helpful for them to make things turn around and use the media to their advantage instead of them using them to create sensational stories.
They can start by getting a life coach to help with issues. Life coaching is a valuable resource, that is overlooked when seeking help. Life coaches can become the friend that has your best interest first. Then they both should try to limit public appearances.
One of the things they really need to do is to drop out of the public eye for a time and reinvent themselves. Paris and Britney would benefit the most by doing this and show that they have control over this media attention.
Paris Hilton and Britney Spears are two very charismatic and talented young women. They are very influential with the younger MTV generation. It would be empowering to women to see them rise and comeback. This I hope they can do and wish them the best.

What do you want most? A better job? A new model of car? Perhaps a healthy relationship? If so, the law of attraction and the secret describe the ways that you can have whatever you want simply by thinking differently.
The practice of using positive thinking and setting intentions to attract the things one desires actually stems from ancient Hindu teachings. The notion initially gained societal acceptance in 1953, after “The Power of Positive Thinking” by Vincent Peale was published.
The law of attraction and the secret have received much more exposure since a book and a movie have been made to explain the workings of the law of attraction. “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and other mainstream outlets have featured these teachings prominently.
The basis of this modern perspective is to use creative visualization to stay intent on what you’d like to bring into your life. This is also known as the intention-manifestation model. It essentially revolves around mentally focusing on what you want, or what is referred to as “setting an intention.” By doing so, you send your true desires into the universal energy field, thus allowing them the opportunity to manifest themselves.
Writing down what you desire, or having a vision of what you would like to achieve, can help you determine your intentions. Getting rid of negative and destructive ideas is just as important for the law of attraction and the secret to work properly.
Promoters of the law of attraction and the secret believe that the universe ultimately intends to provide for each of us. Concentrating on negative things in your life, like lack of money or bad relationships, gives the universe the idea that such bad things are what we want. Therefore, the universe will supply us with more of them so that we get what we think we deserve.
Using the power of intention and positve thinking to imaging more money, more satisfying personal relationships, and so on, allows the universe to recognize your intentions and then deliver the things that you seek. It is now undeniable that positive thinking can greatly improve a person’s well-being and general level of physical health. Whether you are just wanting to improve your mood or would like to improve all aspects of your life, the law of attraction and the secret will be very helpful to you.
